The 50th Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS 50), will take place from 10 to 13 October 2022.

Elizabeth Nsimadala, in her role of WFO Board Member for the African Constituency, will be in Rome at FAO Headquarters to represent the World Farmers’ Organisation.
To enrich and complement the CFS 50 Plenary and allow partners and other stakeholders to highlight their work, CFS will organise 31 side events in virtual or hybrid format over the four days.

Wednesday, 12 October 2022 | 18.30-19.45 CET – Side Event 21 “Improving Global Food Systems Risk Management For A Resilient Food Future”

The World Farmers’ Organisation Secretary General, Arianna Giuliodori will bring the WFO perspective into the debate on the urgency of food system resilience to multiple threats and articulate links to the food price crisis and covid recovery.

Thursday, 13 October 2022 | 8:30 – 9:45 CET – Side Event 26 “Imagine a future where new generations and ecosystems thrive: making the national pathways to sustainable food systems the accelerator for SDGs”

Co-organised by WFO, the session will feature the participation of Elizabeth Nsimadala as a speaker on behalf of the farmers of the world.

Thursday, 13 October 2022 | 13:30 – 14:45 CET – Side Event 29 “Diversified food production and diet: The challenges of transition to more sustainable agrifood systems”.

The session will feature the participation of the WFO Board Member Elizabeth Nsimadala in her role as President of the Eastern African Farmers’ Federation (EAFF).
