The 2024 UN Civil Society Conference will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from May 9 to 10. The Conference is the premier event on the civil society calendar at the United Nations. It brings together senior UN System officials, prominent international civil society organizations, youth changemakers, academia, public opinion makers, and international media to discuss issues of global concern.
Civil society plays a fundamental role in shaping a future that, today more than ever, needs multilateral approaches to ensure an inclusive, sustainable, and safe society for all.
A delegation of the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO), including Mr Daniel Mwendah M’Mailutha and Ms Brenda Sakong from the WFO Member Kenya National Farmers Federation (KENAFF), along with Ms Francesca Mancarella from the WFO International Secretariat, will join the event to ensure that the global Farmers’ voice is heard clearly and loudly.
This year’s international forum, which is expected to host 1,500 participants, will provide preliminary discussions and data ahead of the Summit of the Future in September 2024 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The Conference outcomes will serve as a contribution for Member States as they work towards the Pact for the Future.
More information about the conference and its outcomes will follow in the coming days.
