The WFO President, Theo De Jager discussed on innovation and climate change, pointing out on the importance of a reverse paradigm in the policy-making process on climate change in agriculture, based on a bottom-up approach, where the Nationally Determined Contributions, NDCs, that national Governments are called to present and observe to implement the Paris Agreement, are based on the best practices farmers have already identified as successful solutions to climate change mitigation and adaptation, built on new science-based solutions and aligned with farmers’ needs to achieve the economic, social and environmental viability of the farming sector.

The young entrepreneur Veronica Barbati, President of Coldiretti Young Farmers and WFO Gymnasium member, addressed the issue of innovation in agriculture. She drew the audience attention to the importance of involving the entire supply chain.

Raffaele Maiorano, National Delegate for Confagricoltura for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) illustrated the SDGs, focusing on the issue of practical effects on agricultural enterprises, but also on challenges and opportunities.

Thomas Marino, Founder and Director of Strategy and Communication at The Circle – Food & Energy, addressed the theme of innovation and technology in the agricultural capitals of the new millennium.

The exhibition, as well as the abovementioned “AgriTalks”, are the result of the collaboration between WFO and Agro Camera – Rome Chamber of Commerce.
