Again this year, on February 15, the WFO International Secretariat opened the doors of its premises in Rome to 27 young farmers all coming from different parts of Germany and taking part in the TOP Kurs programme, managed by the WFO partner Andreas Hermes Akademie (AHA).
The WFO Advocacy, Policy and Partnership Officer Giulia De Castro exposed the attendees to the reality of what WFO is, what it does, and how it works, particularly its advocacy action and its member-driven policy development process.
She also highlighted what WFO is doing to support young farmers at the global level, with a special focus on the WFO Gymnasium high-level capacity-building programme for young farmers, now in its third edition.
Giulia De Castro, together with the WFO Engagement Manager Ambra Raggi and Communications Officer Arianna Acciarino, during an intense Q&A session, did not miss the opportunity to reiterate the very spirit of WFO to be a worldwide farmers-led organisation representing farmers of all sizes, all regions, all sectors, keeping special attention to young farmers and women farmers empowerment.
WFO recognises and promotes the importance of capacity-building actions for young farmers and is pleased to collaborate with higher education institutions, such as AHA, to provide them with forward-looking and constructive exchange opportunities.
