On Wednesday March 20th, the WFO President, Theo De Jager, as well as the Treasurer, Arnold Puech d’Alissac, and the Secretary General, Arianna Giuliodori, were in Brussels to meet with the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan.
The meeting was a great occasion for meaningful discussions on the importance of the agricultural sector in facing the key challenges of our times, including climate change and migrations. A specific focus was put on the new joint Africa–EU Cooperation Strategy on agriculture, trade, competitiveness, climate change, technologies and data and the role of the farmers’ organisations.
