On August 31, the WFO International Secretariat welcomed to its premises in Rome 11 scholars from the 2020-year group of the Nuffield International Farming Scholars Program.
The World Farmers’ Organisation and Nuffield International have been strategically partnering since 2020 with the aim to strengthen the voice of young farmers in the global agenda on agriculture by implementing joint capacity-building actions for future farming leaders.
The WFO Advocacy, Policy and Partnership Officer Giulia De Castro exposed the attendees to the reality of what WFO is, what it does, and how it works, particularly its advocacy action and its member-driven policy development process.
A special focus was on the WFO Gymnasium high-level capacity-building programme for young farmers and THE Climakers initiative.
Giulia De Castro, together with WFO Engagement Manager Ambra Raggi and Communications Officer Arianna Acciarino, during an exciting and intense Q&A session, did not miss the opportunity to reiterate the very spirit of WFO to be a worldwide farmers-led organisation representing farmers of all sizes, all regions, all sectors, keeping special attention to young farmers and women farmers empowerment.
WFO is pleased to collaborate with higher education institutions, such as Nuffield International, to provide young farmers with forward-looking and constructive exchange opportunities.
